Blastocystis hominis | Case Study

Blastocystis hominis is a single-celled parasite (protozoa) that can live in the digestive tract. Researchers don't fully understand the role B. hominis plays, if any, in causing disease. Some people experiencing diarrhea, abdominal pain or other gastrointestinal problems have B. hominis organisms in their stool. While B. hominis is common, risk factors include:

  • Working with animals
  • Exposure to human feces at work, such as a children's day care
  • Traveling to a country with poor water sanitation

Date of Protocol:  8 weeks, July-September 2021

Patient Data:  31-year-old female contracted Blastocystis hominis following international travel (with positive testing).

Protocol:

  • Biocidin® Liquid (15 days of titration to reach max dose of 15 drops 2 times/day)
  • Olivirex® (2 capsules/day)
  • G.I. Detox™+ (2 capsules/day)
  • Biotonic™ Daily Adaptogenic Elixir (10 drops 2 times/day)

Outcome: Testing was negative for B. hominis after the Biocidin protocol.
