The LPS Tsunami - The common denominator between Lyme, Mycotoxins and Fatty Liver Disease

With Dr. Tom Moorcraft
Everything from dysbiosis in the oral cavity to chemical pollutants we're exposed to in our diet can radically affect the microbiome. This alteration of the microbiome and the abundance and passage of lipopolysaccharides (LPS) into the systemic circulation is responsible for many common conditions where inflammation plays a role. Patients with persistent symptoms of Lyme and/or mold toxicity often experience elevated systemic inflammation, and LPS may be contributing to their overall inflammatory response – just as it does in metabolic associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), a condition affecting nearly a quarter of the adult population in the US.

For most of your patients, they are merely a nuisance. But they can become a major problem when the immune system is out of balance or when diet and lifestyle feed the organisms that create biofilms.
